Exclamation 4x4 electric shift to manual shift

how hard is it to convert my electric shift 4x4 to a manual floor shift, i just dont trust it, my 88 was a floor shift with manual hubs, and i liked knowing it was in and not relying on a switch and alight bulb when im in the snow

I wish I could give you the info you need. When I bought my truck, I was happy with everything except the manual 4x4 system. When a several friends who have psds told me I did well, I wasn't sure I believed them but I do now. Everone I know who has an ESOF is not happy with it.

Having said that, I know the hub locks are easily replaced. It is the transfer case that will put the juju on you. I believe most simply replace the hub locks with manuals and use the switch. The transfer case does not present near as many probs as the hubs.

oh yea just tried it and it worked this time. We'll see if it does when I really need it. I wasn't on the brake beforjust not moving and in neutral that must have been it.
