I got the SCAB mainly because of price compared to a SCREW and really have not had any complaints. I have a child seat fixed in the middle of my back seat for the two year old and it works great. I have carried plenty of adults back there with no problem. If you are going to take long road trips with people in back definitely go for the SCREW. Don't think that the SCAB will be short on room though. And mine is tight as a drum. I never notice any flex because of no B-pillar. Don't hesitate to get a SCAB if that is what you like.

I have also had Scabs and thought they were tough enough, until a releative had a side impact fold both doors right up under the seat he was sitting on......that's where the B pillar really kicks in.

They each have their uses, and the Screw isn't the answer for everyone....but when cab strength comes up in conversation the Screw wins.

I'm 6' 3" and I can sit in the back seat of my supercrew with the front seats pushed all the way back. I have more than enough leg room and the bench seat is actually comfortable. Like the original poster, I was interested in the Scab at first, but when I tried the leg room thing, the Screw won instantly.

It's also nice to have a "real" rear door for when I get my 3 year old out in tight parking spots and don't have to worry about fiddling with 2 doors.

btw, it's kinda cool that the rear windows will roll all the way down. I read a post about that earlier in this topic and had to go find out for myself. been a long time since rear windows rolled all the way down.

When I bought my F250 I looked at both Scab and Ccab and I came to this conclusion.
Scab = extra room to put stuff or for kids.
Ccab = extra room for even more stuff or kids adults.
Also the additional cash. If your already spending this much $$ whats a few more to get whats needed.

I have an 06 Scab and I have power windows on the front doors, and the two rear suicide doors, switches on the drivers door and all other doors too. Only reason why I went with the Scab in stread of the Screw was that reason. I really didnt need the full 4 doors, and I think it looks better.

having owned 2 s-cabs and 1-s-crew, I would say go for the crew! It's like having a full bedroom in the back seat!! And it's great not having to warn passengers EVERY TIME to "close the little door first or they will CLUNK TOGETHER".
Our big dumb dog likes the stretch room better too.

I've ridden in the back of both, the S-Crew is much more comfortable, the seats are full, and there is lots of legroom. We have a Scab, our most frequent riders are grand-kids, but have occasionally had adults ride with us for up to 4 hours without too much discomfort. The Crew is only available with the 5 1/2 ft bed; we have a small 5th and you cannot put a 5th wheel hitch in a 5 1/2 ft bed.

Budget and usage are going to be big factors for many. You can find a modestly appointed Scab but most Screw are loaded and you have to be loaded to own one or willing to make payments above what many call reasonable for a truck. If you need the bed size Screw will screw you out of that. If you need the passenger rear room Scab will screw you out of that. For my needs, despite the shock and awe factor of the Screw (price and options) I think the Scab is the most practicle of the two. IMHO

The Scab is a little of both bed and cab space. I'd never go back to a reg cab. Maybe down to a Scab some day but thats as small as I'd go.
Red Star 4 people in the back of a Scab were they comfortable? I've only been in a 2000 Ram 2500 with ext cab not the new ford Scab. At least the fords have room in the back of a Ccab. Dodge's crews are Ford's Scab with the doors on the right way. I like my F250 crew but if I decide to trade it I'm getting a F150 Crew 6 1/2 for sure.

Merry Christmas ! ! !

Mine sure do, they're called power windows.

Well I just picked up a 07 FX2 Scab and the windows in back DO go all the way down. One of the reasons I chose the Scab. I love mine it is great and I have the 5.5 box too.
