No, this isn't about the turbo going out and having to convince the wife that a new ball bearing turbo is the only replacment available .I installed a new Truxedo Lo Pro this week and while cruising 55-60mph manifold pressure is down almost 1 pound.I bought it to get keep my tools dry and not have to stash everything in the backseat during the winter months. If I can get a few more miles out of a tank of fuel too, so much the better.
i would think thats a good thing... the low boost at that speed means the truck is under less of a load because of the lower wind resistance so it doesnt feel the need to make more boost... which should also come down to better fuel economy
no no no....Turbo damage clearly evident. Must have BB turbo!!! LOL dont feel bad, my wife didn't buy it either. You should have seen her face when that bill came in. I paid more for that turbo than I did for my last truck. Oh well it's my money too. Just had to share the crate with my rotty for a few days.
Yeah stuff like that doesn't get by women so easily. My wife found a mouse in our house so I came home the next day with a python. Dunno why I thought I could slip that one by her
I tried the clogged exhaust excuse , but she pointed out that I had already removed the muffler,so that didn't work. Been building a house for about 18 months and getting close to finishing and my wife is tired of living like a gypsy, so I don't get much of an allowance for mods until we get moved in. For now I am happy just to have my Super Duty with the 7.3 and I know I will get to to treat my PMS someday, its just tough when it flares up at the most inconvinient times.
