OK. When I installed the new carb, I had to play with the throttle linkage. Is it possible that it is not allowing the carb throttle to come all the way down even though the pedal feels right? I'm thinking I may have threaded it out a hair too far. That would cause the mototr to coninue in a "run off" situation after I turn the key off, right? Thanks...
pop the linkage off the carb and see if it will idle down that way. if it does, there you go!
if it is idleing to high, sucking air, running lean, or has the wrong base gasket it can run on as you put it.
check your base gasket and make sure it is as large as the throttle plate hole.
look down in the carb while it is not running and see if the gasket looks like it is hanging out into the manifold opening on one side.
