sitting here waiting for the geek from geek squad to show up and hook up my lap top for wireless and fix other issues i have..pluss waiting for napa to turn my front rotors for my baby..i was wondering if any one new who sells the hpop for a 2002 or 03 psd for my truck..jody at DP told me to look for one made by Delphi any help would be grat thanks..
Bob's got em at dieselsite under OEM replacement parts its a little cheaper than powerstrokeshop
i was just looking at that one...doesnt say who it was rebuilt by..for some reason jody told me to make sure it was DELPHIE...im thinking more fuel for my tuner and 5" pipe is what i need ill wait and see what mine test out at 1st..i want to fix my AE but i know as soon as i start the geek will show up for his 9:30 appointment with me..its now 11:10
I believe he said it was a reman delphi. Jody was probably wanting to make sure you got one with a 17* swash plate instead of the 15* you have now.
ok cool he did say some thing about makeing sure it was for a 2002 or 03 and be a 17* then said make sure it was remen by delphi...i had asked him cause i was woundering if i would need a retune after the hpop..he said i wouldnt but id notice a big difernts in power again..damn does PMS over go away?
I'm sure your hpop works mine just not quite as much. I would think that the power increase between those two pumps wouldn't be worth it. A dual hpop whatever the brand you would chose would make substantially better HP throughout the entire rpm range. I believe I read on another site there's a guy running 378 hp with stock sticks and some good burns.
they can be had other ways too. used is a good option. also I don't think that the 02 and 03 are the only one with them. I just pulled on off a late 99 and it was a 17degree pump. The rear cover is key. though it requires removal for sure. I used to be said that a humped rear cover was a 17 degree pump. and a flat was the 15 degree well that not true any more. The pump I have has a flat rear cover but it does ahve a bushing rather than a bearing behind it. From what I have been told that is now the only way to know for sure what you have. a bushing is 17 and a bearing is 15.
a few other have gotten rebuilt pumps and had humped covers only to find out they were a bearinged 15 degree pump.
So now that I can complete muddyed the waters let me know if you need help.
I think that stock yes they do. But this late 99 also had one. To me the change to the AD injectors in the late 99 would ahve to be the cut off. I am running AD split shot injectors in my 97 with 15 degree pump (atleast until about 3 hours ago when I put the 17 degree pump in) and it would set a CEL with a 70 horse chip pretty easy. The 15 degree just plain can't put out enough oil for AD injectors. It would seem to me that in late 99 when they went to the AD's the 17 degree pump would have been needed. But I am not an expert just know that the late 99 pump I have is a 17 degree. and to the best of my knowledge was never changed from factory.
I have run into this problem also, with my new chip on the 140 agressive, i can easily set a code when i get into it, and im guessing it's the 1211. I just picked up a HPOP on ebay for $40 the other day (yes i jumped right on it when i found it), and my teacher and i are going to tear one apart and see if we cannot change the swash angle for more flow.
