agree, thats the whole point of drw. you have more area to distribute the weight. also seeing as they had to add fender flares to the 450 due to body width (its a whole nother animal). sorry budy, no srw
If you haven't already seen them, here are the 2008 Order Guides http://www.sunrisefordfleet.com/08_order.htm for the 2008 F-450 Pickup and F-450 Cab Frame (plus 250, 250 & 550).
On page 7 in both guides you will see that both are offered only with DRW codes.
Thanks. I was hoping that it would be like the F350 with both SRW and DWR models. I use my F350 as a daily driver and a DRW will not fit where I park or in the garage. Maybe later on?
i see as many f-350 srw as i do drw up here. my family and friends own a dozen or so all f350 srw. i personally only know of 1 person that owns a drw super duty
They sell wayyyy more F-350 single rear wheel trucks here than they sell DRW...or F-250s. This is an area of the country that has a very very high saturation of trucks. Most of the fords are F-350 SRW. The F-440 is only Crew Cab DRW. ONLY in Diesel. Ford anticipates only 10,000 or so sold the first year. I think that is low??? but I am only thinking of my area. There will be a higher percentage sold here than in some areas of the country. The local Lance camper dealer told me last week He has many..and HE reapeated that...MANY of his potential camper sales are saying they are waiting for the 450 to arrive to put the BIG Lance 1181 camper on.
I will add to that, IN sight of my house....there are 4 F-350 single rear wheel trucks. Two right accross the street , one three houses on my left...and one...4 houses on my right. There are lots of Duallys of all brands around. This is truck country. Central Washington STATE.
just a bit of trivia...I owned a F-350 ONE TON with a 140 inch wheel base in 1976. The factory tires were 12.50/16.5. NOT many of them around...except here. That truck would haul a load...ride like a rock....worthless in the slick....only came in RWD. Because of the tire difference size. 9.50 in front 12.50 in rear.
