tube bed

ok so i have finally got some time to work on my truck and begin the build up of it. currently my intensions on the truck will be a trail truck. i just got done pullin the bed off and cuttin up some fenders to fit some 35 boggers i have. and now i am going to be shortening the wheelbase to about 108" and building a tube bed ontop of it, so my question to yall is who has done a tube bed and do you have pictures. if this topic has been covered before sorry in advance, as i am not an FTE supporter YET and cannot search. also this is kinda specific for KO, if i remember correctly you dropped the angle of your hood down so that you could see over it better. what did that involve and how did you do it. also if any body has dovetailed the front end on there older ford if yall could chime in with maybe a writeup or some pictures that would be great.

thanks in advance
Austin

you can search even if you arent a supporter, its in the box under the 'Users Chatting' box. the word search is white lettering with light blue background!

there were several posts on p1rate where some guys did a tubed out bed.

unless he hasnt been working i dont think he has gotten to the hood mods yet. but i could be wrong!

thanks fish, what do you think about a 108" wheelbase for the truck.

also is there any difference in the rear 9" out of my 1970, and the rear 9" out of a 78 ford

hell yea 108" is a pretty good wheelbase. i'm sittin at 105" and i think i am good to go! i have heard the magic number is like 110-112" but i think it all depends on the trails you run.

there were 3 different versions of 9" rears but only 2 were common, big bearing and small bearing. i am embarressed to say i am not too familiar with the 9's so i dont know specifics
