Some wishes are worth making come true!
I only get about 17mpg with mine. That's takin it easy too. sucks in the winter, but at least in the summer I can run homebrew!
Then I don't care so much.

I don't run my truck to hard, not very often I get over 110, speeding tickets are getting way to be way much money. That 94 I had was a great truck I used to call it black beauty. It was the best riding truck I have ever owned.

Wow, thats a really nice truck. Only thing is I am not sure if i want to get an 05, or an older 7.3. I have done a ton of research and just cant seem to decide what one to try and get.

Well the 05 and newer are one of the nicest i think i love the bigger bolder grill and the headlights but are more pricey probably and the old ones have the 7.3 which are really good engines and some look sweet still would be hard for me to chose to

For me it is just the difference between the 6 liter and the 7.3. I like both styles and all, but I cant seem to decide between the two motors.

preppy, i was doing research for my dad and grandfather when they were both looking for new trucks, dad ended up with an 02 , gramps got an 03. from everything i have found, and the performance of both trucks, the very optimum would be an 02 in our opinion. my gramps got really lucky with his 6.0 and has not had trouble with the motor itself, jsut the rest of the truck. my dads has had some little nagging troubles, but nothing motor related. we pull a bigger blockier house trailer(31.5ft) than my grandpas, and still get better mileage, and thats driving hard, no one passes us, he drives pretty light on the pedal, the 7.3, while definetly not easy to work on, still sems to be better than the 6.0 for filter and fluid changes. thats the majority of our musings, all though pretty much each one of these trucks is diffrent, but thought id put out our thougths

Cool first, have they compared power or mileage while empty? That would be my two main concerns.

My dad had a couple 7.3 PSD's and he got about 21 empty on the highway. I know a couple guys that have the 6.0 PSD's that are only getting 15 or 16 on the highway empty. The guys that have the 6.0's used to have 7.3's and they say that the 6.0 has way more power and they like them allot, but they're drinking allot more of the go go juice.

Broght the Crew Cab in to have the Holley set up properly, I told the mechanic if I could see a 10% increase in fuel mileage I'd be ecstatic. He kinda chuckled like, "right, that'll happen..." Little did he realise that in my case a 10% increase is 1 mpg! 10mpg hiway, city anywhere empty. Hook the trailer and it's 5mpg.

So as usual, it comes down to more power, or better mileage. Just when I was thinking I could maybe have both!

The 99 PSD still had plenty of power, I wouldn't worry about it not having enough.

the figures scott posted are pretty much where ours are,as far as power, the 6.0 is rated as more power, but the 7.3 is no slouch, at least not with the 02. she goes real good, can cruise all day at high speeds and do jsut fine, if he really puts his foot into it it will still push you back in your seat. i havnt personally driven either on pavement. the 02 is pretty much considered to be my brother, and thus im rarely even allowed to start it, ive only moved the 6.0 around the yard, so i cant give a personal account of how they feel to drive, only ride
