I have been in construction of homes for thirty eight years. Since moving to Las Vegas, I became a home inspector, with realaters and prospective home buyers my client base.

The things I see on a dailey basis is on par with your examples. And I have seen much worse. Damn right scary stuff. Just makes one wonder.

The first picture: Mr Rat! Meet "Sparky".

That second picture reminds me of the scene in the movie "Christmas Vacation", where Clark Griswold has all of those extension cords plugged into one outlet to power his Christmas decorations.

I should have got pictures but I did not want to embarrass the owners. I saw a house with 6-8" dia saplings (with bark) flattened on one side supporting a 1xX" floor on about 24" centers over about a 12' span. I wondered why the floor was swaybacked. The saplings were not even the same species and included what looked like older cracked and split deadfalls in several places. The place looked all modern from the outside with nice siding slightly strange tho. They had also done a lot of work on the inside but beneath the skin it was an old chicken coop with a dugout under it.

I don't trust a lot of Realtors.

There is a reason why only 20% of the Realtor's do 80% of the selling.

I'm glad I'm a member of this site.
I now know what to do with the truck radiators in my garage.

As a former professional salesman, I can tell you that is the case with most all selling (although 20% may be generous). An old adage in selling is "There are salesmen and there are order-takers .... and there's a big difference".
As to trust, gaining a prospect's trust is part of making the sale.

My brother just recently bought a new place. It has a pretty nasty 70's vintage double-wide on it. We're in the process of tearing it down and building a new house. Here's a couple pics I thought you might enjoy...

First up... this is what we found after pulling the paneling in one bedroom.

Next, the previous owner (or someone before that) decided not to fix the holes in the roof, just nail up some 1x4s and put new sheet rock on the ceiling...

pretty much the same thing in the living room and kitchen ceilings. Here's a close up of the ceiling showing a rotten rafter.

They did the same thing on the roof too... nailed on 1x4s over the existing composite roof and put on new metal roof. Here's a pic that shows the holes after we pulled the house down.

Just goes to show that some people shouldn't attempt home repairs.

TheWiz427, that radiator looks like it's out of a 53-56 F100 truck.

pitrow, I can solve the problem with that double wide house;
one match......................and 5 gallons of gasoline.
