M5OD Question About shifter

The stub on the shift lever that goes into the transmission is over rangeing (hiting the dash in 3rd the console in 4th). Is there more than one type of stub shaft used in the M5OD? What could be causeing this? This is a rebuilt transmission. This is the 2nd one from this rebuilder that does this. The truck is totaly stock. The stub shaft that I am using in the rebuilt is the one I had in the old tranny.

Sounds like the rebuilder assembled something wrong that allows the shift forks to move too far. I'd make him do it over till he gets it right.

Bingo...it's the shift forks themselves that stop forward to backward (or up to down, depending on how you want to look at it) movement.

I'd take it up with the rebuilder.
