charging system surging

i have a 99 psd i put a alternator in about 6 months ago and now my battery light flickers on and off and the light flicker too wondering if the is some resistor going bad and where to check i checked at the alternator and its putting out 14.2 to 14.3 volts if anyone knows anything let me know thanks guys

It's the voltage regulator in the back of the alternator. Acts as the "throttle body" for the alternator. You'll need a new one.

Hes right I had the same problem replaced the lifetime warrenty alternator and problem was fixed. The best part is that it only takes about 5 minutes to swap the alternator out on the 7.3
