new tires

i dont wanna kick this dog again, but real simple i need new tires, i got 265 70 17 4x4 fx4, 2002 can i fit 305's with no problem or will i have rubbing....and 285's should fit easy right?? thanks for the imput

285/70/17's will fit no problem. The 305's will probably rub, and you will have to crank the torsion bars or trim the front bumper to make them fit without rubbing. It also depends on the truck. Some trucks can fit 34's without any adjustment (mine) and some trucks need the torsion bars cranked to fit 285's...

well since no one could helped me out here and i took a chance and got the 285's and they fit fine, no rubbing or cutting just so yea know....so far so good with the tire as we got 6 inces of snow tonight they worked great

Sounds like a safe bet. I'm thinking the 305's are a bit wide for the stock rims even though people put them on then.
