extended radius arms

I am thinking of switching out the drop brackets that I have now and replacing them with some extended radius arms. I was wondering if the extended radius arms use the stock radius arm brackets or if they come with new hardware that is used further back on the frame? From what it looks like to me on the websites that I have looked at, it seems that they come with a new bracket and mount differently then the stock brackets.

Also, is there one product that is better then another? The ones I seem to be able to get around here are procomp, BDS, and Superlift (I have Superlift now). Is there much difference in them just for the radius arm?

Thanks for all the help.

I run superlift radius arms and they use the stock radius arm mounts mounts 21 or 22 (or so its been awile since I mounted them)inches back on the frame. They do give extra room for wider tires and better articulation of the axle and bring the caster back into spec. Not sure about other brands as I usually use superlift stuff.

BCH, installing the extended radius arms should be a huge improvement over the stock arms and drop brackets, and are an option I highly recommend for a 4" or 6" suspension lift on the TTB frontend. I've used the stock/OEM radius arm brackets with the tubular, extended arms from Skyjacker. THe brackets just get moved back about 14.5"-15", depending on the brand and added length over stock. I use 1/2" Grade "8" bolts to mount the brackets to the frame. Expect to pay about $500 for a pair of the longer arms. JSM84

Thanks for the help guys. I will have to look into getting a new pair of radius arm brackets since I gave mine to my neighbour since once of his cracked.

I am looking forward to doing this upgrade.

The brackets should be the same all the way to 96, shouldn't they?
