'65 Rearend Diameter

Can any of you tell that i am working on my Truck - if all goes well i should have the moter back together tonight, possibly in the truck?
I see that for the most part it looks to be the same group pf people responding to my questions-the responses have been great. Thank you for all you help till this point.

Can anyone tell me the outside diameter of the rear axle used on a 1965 2wd F100. Or an easier question, are the rear axles on the '64 F100 the same as the 65 F100?

Voh, The 28 spline Ford 9" was used from about 57 to 72. In 73 Ford widened the rear track to match the front and about that time started using some 31 spline rears before totally going to the 31 until the 9" was completely dropped in 86.

To answer your question, yes it will work.

thank you. I was looking to use an axle flip kit, but of course, nothing for the old '64.
