whats your experience with this oil? i am thinking about running it in my dirtbike('05 suzuki DR650se)
dose it really last as long as they say?
Have you tried it in your trucks?
Amsoil has sponsored alot of MX teams and has been around since the 70's
With the four strokes being the hot bike to have the Amsoil racing 4-stroke oil is the hot ticket. I havn't made the jump from 2 stroke yet so havn't used the 4 stroke oil yet but the 2 stroke oil works well and havn't had any problems.
Oil brands is like underwear everybody likes what they wear.

Reason: Remove: Glad you said for your dirtbike before Bob came in and told you how dumb you are for wanting to use Amsoil.
I had good experience in my '85 in-line 300 in an F150. Ran Mobil 1 for a couple of years, but when I switched to the Amsoil 5W30, my mileage increased over 1.5 mpg and stayed that way for over a year until I sold the truck (no oil changes within that year). However, I never had an oil analysis run to see what kind of internal wear was taking place. All this was while the truck was running from about 150,000 to 165,000 miles on the clock - never rebuilt.
That said, firesoutmatt's last line is probably one of the most widely accepted statements on this subject that I've seen (the line about underwear).

Fruit of the Loom, is #1. I used to run Hanes brand underwear, but there is no doubt FOTL is best. No other brand can beat ' Loom's wear numbers, and cold weather start up comfort specs! Fruit of the Loom exceeds all industry standards.
Would you like me to send you a sample, for a lab test?

No way, man. Hanes is the only way to go. Have you seen their numbers on the skid-mark tests? I tried FOTL's, but I had ride-up problems that put my jewels in a bind. Hanes all the way, been loyal ever since they came out with the tagless tee.................

CLUX, oh man, your "skid-mark tests" remark had me rolling with laughter! Now that is downright funny, gross, but funny!
I like it when people have a sense of humor, and obviously you do have one. Well said!

PS Hanes is OK, but I still feel "The Fruit" brand is the industry's undisputed leader. Also, I beleive they were even a sponser for Robbie Gordon's #7 Chevy in Nascar Nextel Cup competition. Of course I am not a Chevy fan in Nascar, but at least FOTL is in professional racing.

Okay, Matt, I hear you. If you change your mind, let me know. Changed daily, don't forget. It's not like my truck's OCI, 6 months and 5,000 MI approx. Could you imagine wearing the same underwear for 6 months or 5,000 walking steps, whatever occurs first?!!!
This is a humorous topic, when you think about it!
The colored varieties are far more resistant to skid marks. Hanes so far for me. FTL just don't fit well as clux mentioned. It is almost impossible to keep the voice from cracking with FTL. The Hanes tagless types are good. Nothing will ever replace Munsingwear for a good fit tho...
The only true synthetic that has the best mileage ratings, skid resistance, lubricity, and resistance to breakdown are going to be the silk boxers.
Guranteed no high-pitched tonal adjustments when wearing them, and the color options have some of the best skid-masking qualities available (just in case there is an accidental skid).
In today's market demands for tough performance these sillky SOFTware products are the ULTIMATE. You get what you pay for.
Reminds me of the joke when the guy goes to the ER and they tell him they need a stool, urine and (seamen) sample and he tells them to check his FOTL's.
6 months wow thats gotta hurt after awhile. lol
Wonder if the dino or the syn stains come out easier with the FOTL's ?
I would think dino would being closer to earth than syn.
Since neither Hanes nor FOTL are very sludge-resistant, a high-detergent cleaner must be used on a frequent basis, especially if you're using Amsoil's internal body additive (aka Amsoil vitamins). Best cleaning results are achieved based on a time-used basis, not on mileage.
