oil pump installation

I have a 1994 F-150 with 6 cylinder. I am getting no oil pressure on the oil gauge now..it stays in L.. The gage only has L and H...no numbers. Last week the gauge went up and down a few times after I put an oil flush in but now the gauge does nothing and the engines runs but is a clattering ticking noise like lifters or something. I think I need a new oil pump? How do I remove the oil pump? Do I need to loosesn the engine and raise it but not completely remove it ? Or can i just slip the oil pan out with out having to do all this? Please any help would be appreciate on how to install an oil pump for this truck. any photos or schematic would be appreciated alos if sent to my email: k17ww@yahoo.com

thanks

First off, DO NOT run the engine any more. No oil pressure= no more engine if you keep running it. You can change the pump in the truck but it will be much more difficult. Anyway you can get that engine away from the k member is a good thing, you'll need some room. I'm not 100% sure if the pan will come out if you don't raise the motor at least a little, but I've never owner a 300-6. Also, I'm not 100% up to snuff on the replacement of the pump once you get to it, it's easy and straight forward on the V8 motors I've done, but I've never seen a 300 under the oil pan....
