Are they a little longer than the stock one? Am I gonna have to take stuff apart to change them, or will I just be able to unclamp and pull out the old ones?
I went with a mix of the two, but not by choice. I've got a 7.3 but will be installing a 6.0 intercooler this weekend. Dieselsite's boots do not come in a 3.00" diameter, only the original 3.25" diameter. The 6.0 intercooler has one side that is 3.25" but the other is 3.00" - a 7.3 intercooler is 3.25" on both sides.
I wanted all boots from dieselsite.com but it just couldn't be, so I got new 6.0 intercooler boots from PureDiesel. The big selling point for me on DieselSite.com's boots is that they are designed to be compatible with oil - OEM boots are silicon based and will break down from contact with oil.
For quality, longevity, and use of proper materials I'd say go with the dieselsite kit every time. To fit my setup, I had to get two 6.0 boots from PureDiesel. If Dieselsite.com starts making 6.0 boots from the same tubing, I'd swap over.

The dieselsite boots are a little longer than the stock boots. If you plan to get the 6 boot kit, you will need to unbolt the spider from the turbo to get to the two manifold boots. Once the new manifold boots are in, slip the spider back into place and bolt it back up. I suggest leaving the other four new boots unclamped until you have everything lined up, those new boots are stiff and longer so it takes a little manipulation of the IC tubes for the right alignment.

EXCELLENT ADVICE!!! Sometimes I get so excited with new parts in hand that I forget little tricks like that! Thanks for the reminder!!

Ok, thanks for that great info. SO, another question, should I do the 4 or 6? The price is a big difference.
empiretc, that's on you bro. You have 170K on the stock boots, I would do the 6 piece kit for piece of mind. If not... I would take the spider off anyway and pull the manifold boots and clean them real good with brake cleaner as well as the mating surfaces. At least you will know what condition they are in, you can always replace them down the line.
It would be a good time to do the CCV mod if you haven't done it already, to keep the oil away from your new boots! Good luck.
