Thumbs up Y2KFord

Gentlemen,

This may not be the correct place for this post, but I wanted to take a moment to thank Jack at Y2KFord publicly. You see, I spoke with the salesman I purchased my truck from about an ESP over the weekend. He gave me the name of one of the guys in finance saying that he would be able to give me the best price. I called this morning and spoke with "Gordon" about a Premium Care ESP. Gordon quoted me $1780.00 for a 72 mo. 75k mile ESP on my '04 F150. He said that he would mail me the form and that I should call with my CC# when I received the paperwork.

I had seen on this site that there are a couple of vendors offering ESP's and thought I would look into it just for laughs. My initial thought was that my local dealer would be able to offer me the better price. I could not have been more wrong! I spoke with Jack at Y2KFord about the same warranty on the same truck, and he was over $600 cheaper than my local dealer. Moreover, he is able to get me covered by the end of today so there's no potential for difficulties due to my reaching 36k miles before we get the paperwork done.

I just wanted to express my gratitude to Jack at Y2KFord for taking care of me honestly and fairly. It's refreshing to do business with someone who will treat me with honesty and integrity. We all hear the horror stories about dealers and their antics. Seldom do we hear about a positive interaction. Well, I just wanted to say publicly that my interaction with Jack at Y2KFord was positive and saved me over $600. Thanks, Jack!

Hey Anon I have a question about the ESP. Is it 6 years 75k miles from today, or is it 6 years 75k miles from the date of purchase of the vehicle?

Thanks

It is from the first date of purchase of the vehicle.

It's bumper-to-bumper. It's their "Premium Care" 72-Month, 75k-Mile warranty. Yes, it starts from the date of original sale. That means I get another 3-years coverage or up to 75k Miles.

If you are buying a new truck you will get 5yr/60K warranty on the drivetrain for free so be careful what you buy.

I was thinking of at least matching the bumper to bumper to the same 5yr/60000 mile waranty or 72/75000 bumper to bumper. However any suggestions you may have are welcome.. Thanx for the heads up.. V/r Frog

Ford is going to raise the price of ESP contract's on Feb 1,2007.

If you have been on the fence about buying one, maybe the time is now.

They state "Modest price increase for NEW and Used core plans"

what is "Modest" not sure yet.

Just thought I would let FTE members know about this change that is comming.

The ford esp allows you to use this warranty at any ford service center? Do they rely on your paperwork to perform this work or is there something added in the computer for my VIN to acknowledge this warranty?
Also do you have to perform the regular maintenace at a ford dealer, (I do my own) to keep this in effect?
Is there a deductable?

Thanks,

Thanks,

It is in effect at any Ford dealer, the info is input into Fords data base and comes up when VIN number is ran at the dealership. You do not have to have the maintenace preformed at the dealership but it is preferred, just keep records. You made need them. yes the standard deductible is $100.

Thanks Ed
