I'm running an 87 crew cab dually with a 6.9, c-6, and 4.10 gears. Only mods are the Banks stinger system which is a K&N and complete exhaust.
Keeping it around 50mph empty I'll get 15mpg.
On the highway doing 60mph towing an equipment trailer with my 3850lb. Samurai on it (combined weight around 7,000lbs), it drops down to 9-10mpg.
I think turning the motor @3300rpm kills my milage IMO.

Yeah, I just ran my "new" truck - 86 F250 Supercab 4x4 dually 6.9, Banks turbo, 4 speed, 4.10 gears - all the way back from Sacramento to Seattle. 4.10s put the RPMs in the 2900-3000 range at 65 mph. Even unloaded I only got 12-13 mpg.....
