Aero's VIN....
Howdy to all!
Finally I've learned places, where the VIN is repeated!
This is not full code, lust 6 digits only. There are 2 places only.
And I looked at my friend's aero '97... the same place. And it is possible to cut away these parts and weld in VIN from other van... especially if it has salvge title and police know, that the body was repeared in bodyshop and rewelded....
So there is a real chance to purchaise stolen aero and all the docs will be ok....
Well, how many stolen cars runs on our roads......???
So be carefull purchising new van.... carfax is not the panacea....
Well... I looked carefully at aero '93 for sale. There is salvege title... welded all, but in good condition, and it seems to me, may be VIN is from other van. Cheked it it with carfax.... not stolen.... not the contraband, but.........

horrible detailed long paperwork here just to scrap out a vehicle....requires special license....
had several rigs dumped and abandoned on my property....state refused to touch them....sheriff laughed...wrecked owner smiled and said $100 per car to tow off....
i hooked a chain to them....pulled them out in the road and turned on the headlights and set out flares....drove home
next day...all rigs gone....
changing VIN....not me....like my freedom

I can't believe that anyone would actually want to steal an Aerostar. It's just not a high demand car like say, a Mustang. It needs to be seen in a hit movie and gain a cult status before anyone would want to steal it.
