John,
He probably got everything he needs, except being charged the right total for it.
I promise they didn't split parts apart. They most likely gave him assemblies, like M-Cyl probably has a booster on it, I-Beams are complete from inner pivots to grease caps, and so forth.
Total should have been $210 before tax and he paid $173.20 including the taxes. . . . Salvage guy probably forgot to add the $50 for the Power Steering, huh?
OR. . . .? Maybe it was a Christmas Present from the Junk Yard (NOT). . .

Such little faith, got both brake line brackets, prop valve and bracket, all brake line hardware! Even snagged the brake light switch off the pedal box, just have to fab a bracket. I did leave the belt that drove the orig ps pump though.
Funny, as I was pulling the parts someone stopped by and told me how his old Ford stopped just fine with all 4 drums and that he thought the disc upgrade wasnt worth while because the discs were too small for a truck. Seems like I've heard that argument on these forums too. He said he was too scared to tow anything though.....I just kept my mouth shut.
Chris. FWIW the brake and clutch bracket under the dash is a direct bolt in . helps a lot if you're converting to automatic from 4 speed. gets rid of the clutch petal.
Chris,
Good Job & Great Snagging, I can relate to your joy. Barry is telling you the truth about CT, and all of New England from what I hear tell. Interesting Annecdote about the Drum vs Disc story. I run my 66 & bust a 120+ Top End through traps. If I can turn out at 1st return, I re-stage sooner thus get more passes in per Qualification session. I could not do it with drum brakes when I had them, and back then I wasn't much over 100 mph Big End Speeds. . . .
John,
We do good here-a-bouts most of the time, especially when folks pay attention rather than spend time & effort trying to figure out how to dispute what's going on, what's being discussed, or chewed over, or how to prove us wrong, ya know?
"Darth" my not have a bunch of credits or posts, but I got an impression he had a grip on what he was up to, as well as a fair idea of what he was going to do by what little he did say whenever he posted.
Besides, we have been 'splaining to everybody forever get a donor or else everything you can get from a donor, wherever ya get it from. To an experienced hobbyist or real tech "everything" means everything and that includes all the "hens teeth".
The biggest error some salvage yards make is turning guys with an agenda, who have an idea what they're up to, loose in their yards with a set of tools. Personally, I'm so glad they do.
I pick & pulled a $480 set ( swap meet & used value) OEM Alloy Wheels from a Turbo T-Bird at a salvage yard, with fair tires on 'em (to roll car around shop) for $60+ Tax.
I can get past OEM Lug Locks to remove wheels. Folks stood by dumb founded. 10 -12 minutes later, with an "X" Lug Wrench & a breaker bar, I had all 4 + alloy spare too. I suppose I ought to include price of socket I Used, but it's not hurt & I'll use it again.

Funny how people rationalize things, I have a '72 with front Disc's and a '64 Galaxie with drums all the way around and the system is completely rebuilt. The '72 F250 stops on a dime, better than my '97 F150 (front disc rear drum) and a whole hellova lot better than my '64 Galaxie.
Not in the pick a part here man.. they have it broke down..spindle, calipers, rotor, it was going to be in the 3-400 range for me,...passed on it I can get a parts truck for that. They pay 250 for a vehicle delivered I found out.
I was there and getting a stat housing, couldn't manage to get the hose off but it was only half a hose so I said screw it. Went to the counter and he actually asked "do you want the hose with it ?" I was in shock/disgusted rather..laughed and said "yah I want this torn in half *&^%^ing hose, how much?" he hands me a box cutter to remove it ...LMAO... and you thought the state tax was unbelievable

Bob,
That may be a result of them going "Professional" through that A.D.R.A. which now has state chapters, lobbyists, business plans and all that stuff, even though 1/2 the yards are still "junk yards" in truth & reality.
As EPA & other state & local agencies climb on board many yards are forced to join groups like C.A.D.R.A. which = California Auto Dismantlers & Recyclers Assoc. in an attempt to protect themselves thru numbers & lobbyists, too much Govt. Intervention.
FoMoCo Just bought a Coker Brothers and west Florida 4X4s yard near Tampa, and they are now part of F.A.D.R.A. [FL - A.D.R.A.} Prices up service down, no more pick & pay. It's like going to a dealership, except the stuff is recycled (big dollar for used).

I think you nailed it on the head..Pete they have a very high turn over these days...seems like a 30 day wait till the cruncher. I left some stuff due to $$ hoping to get back to it in a week. Somebody rearranged the furniture with new furniture LOL.. They have a list right by the gate of all the parts with price. Now you and I both know a altenator for a 94 Honda and a 76 Buick are way off at the parts store..so which do you think they base their price on? I've noticed there pricing is dead on as core charges at local parts stores..and they hit you for a core on top of that on the price sheet. hmmm
Our local U-Pull-It used to have 'all-you-can-carry' sales. I got an entire front end for my '70- including good discs that I found roaming around w/ a micrometer. I got both I-beams, spindles, calipers, discs, trailing arms, springs, tie-rods, and various small stuff for $39.95 (plus core charges). But you want to talk about heavy! You have to carry it all in one trip for about 30 feet. I swear my feet were sinking into the ground! That was about 10 years ago- they don't have those events any more.
