Another Update

heard from angela again this morning. her mom is doing a bit better, her condition was downgraded from critical to serious. she is now out of ICU. the ventilator is out, but her throat is still very raw and can only eat soft food( puddings, jello, .......). The nurses on the florr she is now on are not all that good tho, they are almost ignoring her especially when she is in pain.

ang asks that we keep the prayers coming.

John pen and Dallbright, ang says thank you VERY much.

JD - thanks for the update. Sorry to hear that her mother is not getting the level of care that she deserves.

So were John Pen and dallbright able to get Ang's truck taken care of?

John Pen - did you get my email and did you get a hold of dallbright? If you didn't get my email, shoot me a PM or post here and either JD or I can give you dallbright contact information. Dave is willing to help out Ang, but needs to get a hold of you. Thanks!!!

Smile Update on my Mom

First of all, belated Merry Christmas & Happy New Year! It sure is nice to be able to say that.
Ok - THANK YOU ALL for your prayers & kind words. This is the 1st I'm seeing this post - a friend is letting me use her computer for a few minutes.
My Mom is now in a rehab home/nursing home. Her inscision/gash is healing but it's too soon to tell if the bones will knit or reconnect. I have a CD of her x-rays & OH MY GOD she tore up her tibia/fibula & talus something fierce. I was w/her when it happened & have the rare "priviledge" of being able to say I saw my Mom's tibia bone sticking out the bottom of her leg. All my EMT training didn't help lessen the horror of that day - trust me. If it were me I'd probably say "oh cool!" & would be thumping the bone to see what it felt like. But....... not when it's my Mom!!!!!
Anyhow, this home has a fantastic rep for rehab BUT they knocked my Mom's head into the bed a few nites ago & never even reported it so now I'm looking to find a new place to send her.
Please - keep praying & I'll try calling JD again - I did leave a message or 2 but I'm so hard to pin down. I now only work 3 days/weeks so I can be here. Anyone who wants my #'s can get them from JD ok?
Gotta run but thanks guys - I love y'all!

Hello Cowlady(angela),
I'm glad to hear your mother is getting better. My oldest son just recovered from the fibula/tibia break. They set a rod in his leg and he's getting around now, even played ball again this season. It takes a while to rehab from it, especially when the patient is older, just keep at her and she should heal up. Will keep sending up a prayer or two for her recovery. Looking forward to meeting you on the boards, have had a good time with some other chapter members this year.

My boys doing great Darren. Took about a year for him to heal up and wrap his mind around full recovery. Some time in the gym and prodding from his team mates got him moving again, he dropped about 40 lbs and was in Florida last week for the league exhibition ( they won their national title again this year ). He's an offense lineman, you know how lazy they can get, giant powerful men with teddy bear insides.
