Drivin a Dog

Just for grins and giggles (AND a free MP3 player) we went and drove a new QC 2500 TD Dodge 4wd last night.

I was sooooooooo disappointed. After hearing/reading about how "fast" and "responsive" the new cummins 5.9 CR was I couldn't help but try it. What was I thinking????? It was like driving a wiggle worm. Steering was way to loose and the throttle response was horrible. I don't know.......maybe I'm spoiled. My truck cruises at 80 with no problem.......the dodge struggled to get to 80. Quality was NOT the same. Ride was ok, but nothing special. I give it good marks for brakes and quiet motor, but it still sounded like a 6 cylinder gasser with a glass pack muffler. There really IS no comparison between the 2 trucks. My stock 04 with no tuning would run circles around this truck. I just don't get it.

Well......to listen to all the dodge guys talk you'd think that the 5.9 CR was the best thing since sliced bread. Tell me, "you need to hook up with a 5.9 with the TSX6? chip/programmer." Sorry, I just can't see it. No WAY it's gonna keep up.

Dodge trucks are just crap! They look good, kinda like a hot stripper, looks good on the outside, but boy is it "F'd" up on this inside! lol That all there is to it! Earlier models like the power wagons were a hell of alot better trucks than today's dodge products. But I've never owned one and never will, but have drivin the dodge diesels and hate everything bout em.

I have to say that before I purchased my 05 F250 PSD, I went and test drove a 06 GMC Sierra 2500 Duramax, now I must say that truck was sweet, Firm tight control on the road, plush interior, pretty good power, but a low stance, it just does not have that heavy duty truck look, it may have been more than capable of taking care of my needs as far as towing, and my wife would have appreciated the comfort of the highway ride in that truck, but Ford builds the better truck, and I just can't seem to wipe that 6.0 grin from my face !!

I think the REAL happy times for the dodge owners is the fact that the engine has been around so long there are lot's of "upgrades" to make some insane power....

Saw an older one @ a dyno day max out the dyno - more hp than most put out on torque... like 800+ and over 1200 lb-ft of torque....

talking to the guy, he said it was a daily driver too !

it's all a matter of personal preference - that's why they make em in different colors too

My neighbor came by with his new 07 today. He got it yesterday. Very nice looking truck. Bright red with a matching tonneau top. Factory? Not sure. So he's going real slow by the house. My beauty is parked out from also. So he guns it and then makes like he just noticed me and waves. I waved at him to come into the driveway, so he turns around like he's in a frickin promenade. He comes up the driveway and rolls his window down and I told him that if he ever breaks down, give me a call and I'll come get him. He just gulps and says "Me too". I hate to **** on his parade, and we are friends too, but he kept having problems with his last one so he sold it. He told me he was waiting for me to have problems, too. Well, he's still waiting.
