I think it's the probe that reads the temp

Thermocouples are used in EGT probes. 2 oposing metals generate a small electrical charge when exposed to heat, the gauge uses the charge to determine needle position. Most accurate between > 200*F

Yea i read further and yea it is. I was worried it had directions of me drilling and taping into the exhaust manifold and i didnt want to. But thats a different style im getting the clamp style that drills on the downpipe. I cant wait to get them it looks like a blast to put on.

You still want it in the manifold or the uppipe for the best reading. The clamp on will work in the manifold just after the elbow before it connects to the uppipe or just past the connection in the uppipe.

That black loom, Is that your wires for the sending unit? Is there any way you can get pictures of where you drilled it? Thanks

357fph if you go to the drivers side and look under it at the trans, Theres that black thing with the wires, Look left of that you cant miss it

King if you look on that pic just past where the shadow hides the silver tube it bends toward the uppipe and the band clamp is just visible. I use loom on any wire I run but there are 2 wires from the thermocouple to the gauge.

OK i see it, How hard was it to get a drill and a tap in there? What about the metal shavings?
