everbody i called would not do it i, so i just bought a superlift truspeed its a calibration box that tie's into the abs module underneath the driver side battery, it was easy to hook up and is fully adjustable for different tire sizes and gear ratios,
the diagnostic systems we (dealerships) have do not have the capabilities of speedo correction to that extent. you are limited by preset boundaries ford engineers preprogram in the equipment for programable parameters such as tire size and gear ratios.Chris
I have a 2002 5.4 and could not find a tuner that could reprogam the speedo for that model year. I went with the truspeed, it's a straight foward install, and works great.

I've read here that the "preset boundaries" go up to 35"
If you do digital monitors, most of the ones that I know of(I know mine does it and it's the outlook monitor), one of the gauges you can select is a speed gauge and you can set it up with aftermarket tires, plus you will be able to have all your gauges as well and the safety features that you can only get with digital gauges compared to analog ones.

that is true. i have my 06 programed to 35s, my buddies at work have a 99 and a 02, both calibrated to 35s using the ford wds/ids/pds all 3 will do this.
i have 37s on mine now, how much was that superlift thing?

yeah, i work at a ford dealer ... we do it for free .... but other dealers around here will either charge 0.5 of an hour or an hour of their hourly rate.
cool. do most dealerships offer the service, or is there only a select few that do?
ive got quite a few large ford dealerships in the area, but ive been told that they dont offer the corrections.....
i'll call tommorow and find out for sure.

The Ford PCM can be programmed to recognize a tire with as little as 600 revs per mile, which equates to about a 35" tire. Officially, Ford says 601 revs per mile, but my truck took 600. Try 599 or less and it won't accept it.
Ford dealerships have the capability to calibrate your speedo, but some lack the knowledge and simply refuse the service if they don't know how. Call around a few places until you find a shop that can do it.
For your specific tires, go to the manufacturer's web site and find the revs per mile, take that to the dealer.
