I have a 2001 F-150 that has a temperature and compass overhead console. However the temperature must be glitching out because it reads the outside temperature at 140 degrees. I was wondering if any can point me to a web address that can help me repair this problem?

Depends where you are located. That may be accurate. I know from the service manual the compass is adjustable but I don't remember if the temp is. Let me check and I will let you know.
I checked the manual and it is not adjustable. Your temperature sensor is defective. The resistance between the positive and negative temp sensor terminals should be 8K to 14K Ohms @ 65* to 86* respectively. The sensor is under the hood.
I forgot to add the manual states if the temp is 140* then this idicates a short or open circuit in the temp sensor.
If you would like to check the sensor it is located on the radiator frame behind the front grill. Disconect the leads and check the resistance on the sensor.
