How are you guys with modified 6.0's dealing with the dealer when it comes to warranty issues, or do most of you care? I have been thinking about getting a programmer/ tuner/ chip for my truck, but want one that will not leave anything on the computer. My dealer is very strict when it comes to modifications, so this is the reason for this. I also have the 05E15 recall on my truck, but have decided so far not to have it done based on what some of you have experienced from it.
I have a mod friendly dealer but have not needed to see them for anything other than a vent so it has not been a problem. If your dealer is very strict you may want to think about it. Maybe find another dealer also. Remember there is the possibility something going wrong while you are away from your home town also so then you are at the mercy of whatever dealer is nearby. I think the majority of trucks that are tuned don't have any problems though. Just do some research on what programmer/tuner fits your needs and I think you will be fine.
We have the hypertech power programmer on our 2003 exscursion and 2005 F-250. We take them in for all our service with our local ford dealer. We just reload the factory settings before we go and have never had any problems. We just took the 2005 f-250 in for some engine work because it would not start and did not have any problems with the warranty not covering it with the programmer on it. We got the programmer not to much for power just more mpg and we get over 6 more mpg on highway. I would check with your dealer though because they are all different.
I thought they could tell even after you disconnect the tuner? I know there were some posts on that here, but it doesn't do much good to search on tuner, even if you could.
What's a warranty? I don't think I can hide the NOS solenoid on te CAC tube, but I'm not really sure my dealer's tech's would even know what it is anyway. lol

Its true. I can send you the papers with the hand calculations before the programmer and after the programmer on the same 400 mile drive. That is with just easy driving at about 70 mph. The mileage gain really just depends on how long I can wait till I want to see some black smoke again .

Well if you say it is it must be true. What kind of mileage are we talking about with programmer ?
Both trucks are completely stock other than the F-250 has a bed cover. Before the programmer we were ranging from 17 to 20 mpg and now we get about 24-27. The last trip we averaged 26 mpg in the exs and were goin 65-75 mph.
