tramsmission or transfer case?
i have a 96 f150 4x4 automatic with push button overdrive, driving it the other day and it stopped pulling now it will pull but will not come out of 1st gear, gets to about 35-40 mph then starts cutting out, it starts jumping really bad, i jacked the rear wheels off the ground and put it in drive and it has got a clinging sound coming from the front of the transfer case where it bolts to the transmission. the transfer case pulls fine in hi range but i can't get it to go into lo range. can anyone help me figure out what is wrong, this is my only transportation and i need to get it back on the road.
