Ok this is what im going back and forth with. The unit has the ability to replace the factor keyless entry that I get with ford. I keep trying to decide if I should have do that or carry two remotes. Here is my thinking but it might be flawed—If you lose or break (or something else) one of these remotes that come with my starter I don’t know if you will be able to always find one in the future. I’m sure you will always be able to find one of the ford factory remotes and off of ebay they are CHEAP J. Those of you who have remote starters do you usually used the keyless entry on them? It would be nice to only have one remote but I don’t want to sacrifice anything for that? What do you guys think?

On a side note…does anyone have this starter that im getting. Have you been happy with it?
You usually just tap the wires into the factory keyless. So if you lose the remotes to the craptastic remote start system you can still use the factory remote in a pinch for door locks.
You can find remote for any DEI brand in most cities. Any of them will work. I have a Viper alarm & I have Python remotes. You can always just stick your key in the lock to override the system. I've had my alarm & remote start since 99 & its never failed.
i install these at circuit city. Personally I would only want to carry around 1 keyfob. Normally for the power locks you just have to apply 12V to lock and 12V on the unlock circuits.... If you give me time I can look up all the info and e mail it to you that tells you every wire on the car you need. Plus i can tell you which wires on the remote start you wont need, and the best way to do things. like take the 3 12V wires and cut 2 down, and run them into the center wire, and only tap 1 wire into 12v rather than 3
I had a SS Impala that had a factory GM remote & the auto start was programmed into the factory remote..all you had to do was push the lock & unlock at the same time & it started other than that it was like a factory remote..pretty cool I thought
