My 00 Exc V10 has 101 k on it. One Ford dealer in Atlanta told me 159 to replace the plugs, another dealer said 289! Big difference.
The plugs are like 7 bucks each, and I could do it myself, but wondering if you paid to have yours done how much....and would you use an independent shop instead of Ford?
Other than fuel filter and trans fluid change. any other recommended 100k stuff you might do?
Be careful about the trans flush if you haven't had it serviced very regularly. I had mine flushed with one of the machine things (versus dropping the pan) at 92000 and a few days later, the tranny started gushing fluid with a blown internal pump seal. coincidence? I doubt it. If you look around here, there are all kind of posts about the trannys, and different people have different opinions. But thats just what happened to me... If it hasn't been serviced regularly, I would suggest the old style drop the pan change. It may not cycle as much fluid, but it seems to be safer. But thats just my $.02. ask around.
100K doesn't call for a tranny fluid change. That shoulda been at 90K. Coolant, however, is 100K.
Do a brake fluid swap. That is the most used fluid (besides gas) but the most under changed fluid (unlike gas! ). It's easy, cheap and will improve your braking.
Aren't the coils also supposed to be replaced at 100K?
I would only replace a coil if they failed to pass a test or quit working. I have run them on my outboard motors for years,, never failed one. The only coil I ever had fail was on my 1958 Ford 232 cu in 6 cyl. Jim
