Cold Start Issue
i dont know if it is really an issue or not.today it was 15 degrees where i live.my truck started ok in the morning tom leave for work.only one chug or two.i worked 9 hours and it was 15 degrees and dark when i went to start my truck with my remote starter.first time it did not start.second time it started but chugged real hard about 6 times at least.i was plugging it in at my house every night before bed.HOLY ELECTRIC BILL!do i have a start issue or do i need to start adding feul additive.sorry for the dumb question but it is my first diesel

A good additive is always a plus. If this doesn't help then u may want to check
your GP system.
Side note: get a heavy duty outdoor timer for your block heater and set for
about 2-3 hours of heating before use.

That might be to long under certain conditions. The PCM looks at Engine Oil Temp and Barometric pressure to decide how long to run the GP's up to 120 seconds. If I wait 30 seconds I have no problem starting. If you are plugging it in all night you will probably want to check you glow plugs.
