Step tubes...
...can anyone recommend a brand name or a website that contains brands of 'step-up tubes' or 'nerf bars' that fit on our style of trucks. I'm not having much success finding a company or manufacturer that makes a 'reg cab' bar for a 1997. I'd prefer to buy the kind, if they exist, that mount onto the frame as opposed to the door sil..

Good luck trying to find frame mount bars. I have been looking for years for that kind without luck. Most of the ones you see are one-off creations fabbed up by a custom shop or by the owner themself. Eventually, I plan to build my own frame mount ones. Wife says I have to finish the house first though. I would think you should have no trouble finding one that will mount to the cab though. Just about all of the major manufactures used to carry that one.

N-Fab makes some nice nerf/steps. I don't think they mount to the frame, but you could probably modify them to. I'll be buying some of the 6 step bars for my C/C when I have the extra cash.
