1951 electric wiper switch
I have a 1951 F4. What type of switch does this unit have and where do you get them? It seemed to be a toggle switch, Was that for low and High speeds? If it was 6v pos ground? How do you convert it to neg ground. I can always get a voltage drop resistor to covert to 12V.

I am not familiar with what type of switch was supposed to be there. A switch doesn't care if its part of a positive or a negative ground circuit, all it does is complete the circuit.
If the wiper motor is set up for 2 speed then you will need a 2 position switch so you can have Off, Low, and High. You might try LMC, Dennis Carpenter, Macs, etc for the switch

The stock electric switch is a twist type and I think it has three positions, "off, slow and fast". I have stock '51-52 wipers in my '49 but I don't remember right now. I don't know where you can buy a stock switch but they sell reproduction ***** that you could make fit a modern switch if you can find one that will work.

They appear on Ebay all the time. I saw one 2 weeks ago there. The original part number was 8C 17470 , which was superceded to a B2TZ number which I can't remember at the time. I did find 6 places that had them. If you want NOS , drop me a PM and I'll send you the list of places to call.

I have one you can have, drop me an email. (I guess I might want to keep the ****) As far as I know it works OK. When I tried my wipers the positions were: Off, Smoke, and More Smoke (from the wiper motor).
