50 F-1 Decode help

50F1 - the vin will appear on the rating plate on the glovebox door, on the data plate on the firewall (passenger side above the solenoid - if like my 48 and it should be) and on the frame rail - some guys say its on the driver's rail, but mine is stamped on the passenger rail up by the front shock mount. It is a faint stamping - use steel wool and something to cut the grease.

It should be like this: *98RC 138425* for an 8 cylinder or
*97HC 138425* for a 6 cylinder.

The vin tells only that it was not 1948 ('50 vin was a continuation of '49 vin number), that it was 6 or 8 cylinder, and 1/2, 3/4, 1T rated, and the unit production number.
