Hopefully someone on this board can help me with a template or some dimensions on the exact location of the stock radio for the 64 Ford truck. I have an N series Ford truck that has the same cab as the 61 to 66 F series trucks. My truck did not originally come with a radio and has no drilled holes in the dash for one. I have obtained a good playing radio from a friend that has the support bracket and all the attaching hardware. I need to know the exact location both vertically and horizontally to drill the holes for the radio. If you are wondering what a N series looks like go to my gallery.
Well wish I could help, just took mine out for servicing today. But the N and F100 are probably way different dashes . None the less, enjoyed browsing your gallery..Lots of great trucks in there. You do some very nice work. Also glad to see you seem to be doing well given the misfortune, hubby/purple truck.. what did someone forget the parking break or ?...eewwhhh..
Actually the dashes are the same in both the N series and the F series pick ups, so by all means send me some info. Send me a PM and with e-mail address and I will send you a picture of the dash.
As far as my 56 being wrecked, it was a restrant that broke on the trailer while being towed to Pigeon forge. The broken reatrant allowed the rear wheels to back off the dove tail of the trailer and it not only wrecked the 56 but also the F 250 I was towing with. Since then things have looked up and things are a lot better now.
Mine is a 65, the radio is dead center in the dash, side to side and top to bottom it is centered on the flat portion of the dash, the bottom of the chrome bezel is lined up with the bottom of the instrument bezel.
