My foot Hurts...

Bought a '97 4x4 F250 HD. No cruise. Anyone added an OEM cruise or aftermarket model? I've noticed that some later models have the cruise finger controls on the steering wheel and that seems like an easy swap, but what about the guts under the hood?

I had a 95 F150 that I added a cruise control unit to....I bought the OEM from Ford (though it is aftermarket, it came in a Ford box).

The install was really pretty simple...I had to put magnets on the driveshaft for the speed sensor to read...

The unit mounted under the dash and there was another stick (like a second directional lever) that had the controls on it...I had to mount it on the steering column....it sounds goofy, but it really looked pretty good.

Surprisingly, it worked perfectly....a fired had bought a cheap add-on kit and complained all the time about how it would lose speed.

If I had to ddo it again, I would opt for the Ford unit...all brackets were bolt on and everything attached flawlessly...good luck
