so my buddies and i bought a ranchero last year and it just sat on the back burner as we didn't have money to work on it or drive it, but now we have the money and we are needing like a new parts for it..i know of dear borr classics but it there any other places that sell parts for them?
floor pans, all new interior, upgraded suspension, torino gt hood. everything else we are going to make or rebuild. for suspension we are looking for progressive springs and tubular arms and links.
not sure who is making floor pans for the '73.... Might want to check the Torino listings, the floor pans from the front should be similar to the Ranchero.... Same on the springs and control arms. If you can't find them listed as Ranchero, check the Torino listings and see if they are compatible..... Eibach makes springs for just about everything, real good quality, too. For the hood, check the Torino's and Merc's as well as the Ranchero. Friend of mine scored a really great GT type hood with twin scoops off a Merc we found in the bone yard....
The 1972 Torino Sport Hood will not fit a 73 unless you swap the whole front clip from a 72 over to your 73. They are not the same size, 72, is a stand alone year.

NO they did not offer the scoop in 73 on Torino or Rancheros. Some people cut the scoop part out of the 72 hoods and graft them on the 73s if you are a good metal worker.
i am thinking about making my own scoop and then making an isolation box of it. this weekend we cut the floor pans out and welded in new ones and i got the 351C to run. it sounds pretty sweet, but we are going to open up the exhaust and rebuild the posi and get some like 3.55 or 3.70 gears. we are also going to cut and tuck the bumpers and build a billet grill...we maybe 16 and 17 but we have our stong parts that we are good at...i have been working with sheet metal and engine for over ten years and i am pretty good at it....next weekend we are going to pull the engine rebuild it and then rewire the car
Sounds like a good course of action..... Plan your work, work your plan!!!!! Wish I was still young enough and abitious enough to get that much stuff done on a weekend!!!!!!!
out of school for 3 weeks..SCORE...we should get alot of work done over that time...we made the mistake of using what ever metal we could our hands on and someone gave us some galvinized steel and one of the guys that just started metal fab made up a patch panel out of it and was welding on it for a few hours.....by the end of the day we were all sicker then dogs...it was bad, but to get some fresh air we went and jumped my friends 2001 stock 2wd ranger and we got massive air...like 3 feet. it was pretty sweet.
I've got a '73 and it has a '72 scoop welded into the hood. Looks like it came from the factory that way!
Hard to see from the roof, but it's the ugly green Squire I've been working on.
