I will be looking at a '96 Bronco tomorrow. Has the 5.0, Auto., 140000 miles. He's asking $5995, but I plan to offer less. Just wondering what a "Super-Clean" (He says) is worth. It's an XLT with Eddie Bauer wheels...
If it needs absolutely nothing, it's a fair price (but not a steal). Any repairs or defects (tires, upholstery, etc.) would have to bring down the price. I just paid $2500 for a pretty decent 95 XLT w/ leather that needed new tires and muffler and a fair list of minor repairs but the body and paint is pretty good and purrs like a kitten. Had 165K.
Sounds good to me but I live in land of rust and come your way to get trucks. A solid bronco in my area is more than you said you are getting yours for. Good luck sweet ride .
We bought an older style (1990) FSB with all the goodies (Eddie Bauer package, 5.8, auto, power everything, A/C, etc. for $3500. Nearly perfect body, zero rust.
I would also much rather have the 5.8 than the 5.0. The gas mileage is about the same, but the 5.8 has gobs more power.
Thanks for y'all's interest and comments. I drove the Bronco today and it is a really nice one, so I plan to make a low-ball offer just to see what the owner says. I'll make another report soon..

I bought the exact samething you did for the same price here in vegas. Mine did'nt need tires or a muffler though. Everything else was as you described it
I know it's been a looooong time, but the PO and I came to terms and we got the '96 Bronco just before Christmas. Look in my gallery for a photo of it and our '72. The wife and I will be driving the '96 to the S.C. gathering in Greenville on 31 March.

Reason: More Info
There is a 96 XLT 5.8 leather here going for 5K with 160K on it. I am thinking about buying it just so I have something to haul people around with. Before I bought my 6.0 work truck I had a 1980 5.8 work truck with almost no oil preasure and it never quit running. It did make me nervous though.
