Looking for some new tires to put on my 2002 2WD. I want something with some off road capability because I do a lot of driving around out in the pasture, but I don't want a real heavy lug tire. Any recamendations?
As you can see this is a big "opinion" question. For example, I had BFG AT's and didn't like the rain or snow performance. But having lived in AZ I'd say they are an excellent sand tire. Now I'm running Cooper Discoverer ATR's and really like the highway rain performance and mild road snow performance. But, there is a guy on here that went so far to take back his ATR's because of "wandering" issues under acceleration and deceleration and traded em out for Michellen MTX's I think.
If I had to say it in a sentence, "Get a good deal on a name brand, try em and see what you think". I really don't think you can go wrong. You know what level of tread aggresivness you need and how you like them to handle or sound. You'll probably be ok with what you end up with.
