Hey Southbound I started out with a 4 in turbo back straight pipe kit. I installed that and it had a little whistle. I called and had them send me the delete pipe. I put that on and MAN what a difference. It sounds like a jet sitting on the runway. I did go back and buy a muffler from the company I got the kit from. Only because Pa inspection law requires one. It is a straight thru design muffler. I like it now it has aggressive sound under accel now but I kept the straight pipe to have the option of turning heads when I go by and smash the throttle. Thats what I like about this kit I can add or remove the cat or muffler at any time I feel it necessary. To answer you ?? no cat= major whistle - muffler= whistle and a mean growl and no cat with muffler= moderate whistle at idle more whistle under accel with a deep tone. I have to own at least 1 vehicle that has loud exhaust since my car isn't a V8 guess what there goes the exhaust on my 06 with 5kmiles. Also while I'm thinking about it when I ordered the delete pipe the guy told me some powerstrokes throw codes when the cat is removed. I haven't had any trouble with mine due to the missing kitty. Good Luck on your truck.
STOCK = BORING

HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO EVERYONE AT FTE ! ! !

stroker,
do u have the latest reflash from ford (06e17) on your 2006 ps? if so did your cat delete set off any codes on your truck? do u run a tuner on your truck, did it set off any codes with this reflash? i just got my 2006 ps bac from ford and they flashed to the new update where it pumps the oil from the injectors after the key is turned off, have not installed my delete or my programmer yet, just wondering if i am gonna set off some codes when i do?

I just had it at the dealer for the keyless entry and a squeak under the hood when its a cold start. They said they did not do anything to the truck because it was nothing they could find wrong.They said it was the turbo vanes making the squeak. So with that said I don't think they refashed it. I had it in two weeks prior to this and since then I have went from 16mpg down to 13mpg. It might have to do with more idle time since its been cold (20deg.) Do they tell you if they do a reflash? Why was yours reflashed? Is it recomended or does ford send out like a recall to update this stuff? I heard some people on here say the lose power and mpg's afterward and once they do the reflash its to late to go back. I don't run any tuner. I had a edge ez module on it for a while. I worked great for 1,000 miles then when I made a trip to the mountains in Oct. It started throwing code PO299 (turbo over/under boost). So I removed it and every thing has been fine ever since. I miss the extra power and the reduced amount of down shifting the AT did. The cat delete never caused any codes to come up by itself atleast. It could have been possible with the combination of exhaust and module caused it. I don't know for sure because I did the exhaust first. I would make sure you can clear the code if it would throw one. I keep my scanner in my truck just incase. I was told some codes make the truck go into limp mode and the truck wont go at all. Don't know I never had that happen. Good luck Southbound ! ! !
