G'day Guys
I have a '79 F100 351C-C6-9'
I am looking at blowing the Cleveland. But from my limited understanding of auto's they use manifold vacuum to sense when to shift.
With a blower the manifold will be under positive pressure all the time.
So do you have to lock up the auto or is there a magic trick to enable the transmission to remain an 'auto'.
B&M makes a little device called a "modulink" that I hae used with success. It links the modulator valve to throttle pressure. It should work in your cituation. Of course, I'm sure someone will tell you it's a piece of crap. I have had good luck.
By the way a manual valve body isn't a good idea on a street vehicle mainly because it does engauge the low reverse band. You will loose your low gear braking.
