washer spray adjustment

My 96 Cougar sprays the wiper fluid onto the sunroof and over the trunk deck. How do you adjust the spray to hit the windshield?

Unlike the F150's of the past, the needle trick does not apply to these sprayers. I can not find or see how to adjust these things. Help is welcomed.

They have to be bend into the right trajectory.

Use compressed air at the spray end first..then at the hose end to clear the orifice,.

How do you "bend" them into the right trajectory, and why do i need to clear the orifice with compressed air, they are not blocked.

Now i am confused with something that should be very simple to adjust.

Did you test them with the vehicle moving or stopped?

Torque1st........They were tested with the vehicle parked. The spray is hitting too high.

I thought when you mentioned "a needle" they might have had some crud in them causing the re-direction problems.

I guess I should find a car like your and check it out to know for sure what it looks like.

For years, you could just bend them into position with a screwdriver or something.

They are frequently aimed high when sitting still depending on aerodynamics so they hit the windshield at speed. I frequently see vehicles parked at a stop light showering themselves with washer fluid. If any of the spray hits the windshield while parked and if they work while on the highway they are probably OK.
