92 F-150 Question..
Guys my 92 F-150 302EFI motor is acting up and I think it has something to do with the temperature gauge? For some reason my truck gets up to operating temperature, but the gauge is not reading correctly half the time and last night at Taco Mayo the truck was surging in idle also? I will run a scanner to see what codes I get, but what is the culprit for the inaccurate gauge readings? Coolant temp sensor, any thoughts maybe?

The dash gauge is fed by it's own single wire sensor near the front drivers side of the lower intake. It about the size of a dime and has nothing to do with engine operation. Surging idle could be a dirty idle air bypass solenoid, clean with carb cleaner.
