My 97 has been running very well and not one leak. Today I ran it a lot at the job because I was using the inverter to power a drill. I happened to look at the front of the truck, and there was a puddle of oil under the front. From what I can see it is probably the front main seal.
How big of a job is it? What is the easiest way to go about it. I assume the radiator has to come out.
Thanks for any help.
I would bet that its a oil galley plug on the front of one of the heads. They have oring that sealt hem and they go bad sometimes. also could be the front main but thats pretty rare.
Without pulling the air cleaner, I can't see a thing. It ends up dripping off the front of the oil pan. It could be from higher up. I will look in the daylight.
check your valve covers they are known for loosening after a while and causing a slow leak, I would check all other possble leaks before delving into rear main seal unless you are sure.
