Anyone know how to get this thing out? I got it torn down to just the cab on the frame. The only thing I can see on the firewall is some sort of studs sticking out. They look like a type of insert that the screw would go into and spread. No visible threads sticking out. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
The four studs you describe should have nuts on them. That is what holds the heater up off the floor. These four studs are located around the battery box. Remove the battery. Just above the battery box tray are two studs with star washers and a nut. Just below the box and inline with the others are the other two nuts. They are about 6 to 8 inches apart. Hope this helps
Thanks for the help. I looked and looked then I looked some more and I finally found it :+ . They used a couple of dry wall screws to hold it in from the other side. Go figure. Well... Now I got see if anyone is interested in it.
How do you tell? It was painted totally black some time ago...Before I got it. I'm not quite sure if it is original because someone made different holes for the hoses to exit the firewall. One more thing. It was'nt hooked up when I got it and I started the resto soon after. They had the hoses in a closed loop. Looked like they burned one of the hoses on the manifold and instead of replacing it they just cut it and hooked to other one. Guess they did'nt need it in the winter.
The Magicaire has a separate control panel that hangs under the dash to the right of the steering column. The right side of the heater box ties into the vents on the passenger side. I could post a picture but I can't seem to figure out how to do it.
That does'nt sound like this one. all the controls were in the dash. Nothing was hooked up as far as vents go. the two holes for the windshield were not connected either. It has some sort of door on the right side that opens with a turn latch. I know the fan works cause I tried it before I took it out, but I'm not sure of the core seeing that the hoses were'nt connected.
