Are there any aftermarket antifreeze brands that meet the requirements for the 6.0 PSD?

Ford's Premium Gold antifreeze is spec'd as "VC-7-B" and is a long-life coolant. Just becuase others claim to be "long-life" does not mean it meets Ford's specs for this motor.

The 6.0L uses this special fluid and does NOT need additional addives like the 7.3L motor did... so there is obviously changes and improvements to this spec that our motors need.

Here is the front and back of the Ford (factory fill) coolant for our motors. The back view show the spec... so just do a search on the internet or look at coolant bottles when at your favorite retailer or auto parts store.

I paid $10.00/gallon at my Ford dealer when I flushed my system at 50,000 miles... but then again, I wanted OEM coolant and benefits... or at least perceived benefits as I see them.

Thanks "Bum". At $10.00 per gallon you are not paying a lot over the other guys, so I think I agree that the comfort factor is worth that.

Beachbumcook...Just curious... How much coolant is required to flush the system... the no search is killing me...

Im going to wait another week or two before doing it.. I want to see how much crud the coolant filter picked up...
