I need help with 02 Excursion spring advice

I asked for and thankfully received my answer for Spring Codes for the Excursion. My Excursion must be a freak because it is perfectly level with stock springs. I want to lift the truck using Ford springs. According to the chart if I use W Code springs it will raise the truck 2.77 inches (I have a V10), or 2.90 inches with the X Code springs. I also believe I need Blocks for the Rear. Here are my questions:
(1) Do I simply ask for either X or W Code Springs for the Front and ask for X or W Code Springs for the Rear?? Are they interchangable with the same Part Numbers??
(2) Do I need Blocks for the Front??
(3) Under X or W Code Springs they say that they are for a F350 or F450 they will fit my truck correct??
(4) Anyone know the Part Numbers for the springs, both Front and Rear??
(5) Anyone know the Part Numbers for the blocks, both Front and Rear??
(6) Can I do this myself in my driveway with 4 - 6,000lb Jack stands and a 4 ton Hydraulic Jack??
(7) Will the bolts come off with the use of airtools??

**Sorry for all of the questions, I like to be sure before I do anything I haven't done before. Also no Ford Dealer around me will give me any information about any part that is not STOCK for my excursion.

Thanks

Ray

Ray, I just got your email (it was in my spam folder) and while I am far from a spring guru, I will try (in my limited knowledge) to answer some of your questions based on my experience.

(1) Do I simply ask for either X or W Code Springs for the Front and ask for X or W Code Springs for the Rear?? Are they interchangable with the same Part Numbers??
Not according to my local dealership. You can ask the parts guy to look up the parts by part number, or by year and make of the vehicle, but not with the designation "V code spring", or "B code spring", etc.

I do believe some of the spring part numbers do show which code group the springs belong to though, on the Ford computer.

(2) Do I need Blocks for the Front??
I have zero info or knowledge about front blocks. Sorry.

(3) Under X or W Code Springs they say that they are for a F350 or F450 they will fit my truck correct??
I know the F250/350 springs are interchangeable with our Excursions, so based on that only, I'd have to guess that yes, they should fit. I'd ask Bruce1954 this question though. He's a real Excursion spring guru.

(4) Anyone know the Part Numbers for the springs, both Front and Rear??
(5) Anyone know the Part Numbers for the blocks, both Front and Rear??
Sorry, I don't. Not for those springs, I only know the V code and B code spring numbers, and the 3-1/2" rear tapered block.

(6) Can I do this myself in my driveway with 4 - 6,000lb Jack stands and a 4 ton Hydraulic Jack??
In my driveway, I did the fronts first, then on a different day, I did the rears. I had to use both of my floorjacks in order to properly maneuver the springs and coerce them into place, plus I had a buddy helping me.

You might be better at it, but for me, I'm not sure I could have succeeded without a second floorjack.

(7) Will the bolts come off with the use of airtools??
I didn't have any air tools or a compressor. All I used was hand tools and elbow grease.

Stewart

PS - You will probably get more attention and responses if you post these questions in the Excursion forum.
