I bought an '02 with 69k miles a couple months ago. Recently, I've noticed a slight "miss" in the idle. It's barely noticeable, but I'm sure it wasn't there when I bought the truck. I don't know if I should be too worried about it or? Since I've bought the truck, my area has switched over to winter fuels and I've been using an anti-gel addative since it's been pretty cold here, so I don't know if that could possibly have anything to do with it.
Should I wait until spring and see if the problem is still there or should I be concerned now? Any other thoughts or ideas? This is my first diesel truck and have no idea what is normal and what isn't.
Well.............
There's a few possibilities that come to mind.
Air in the fuel from needing to do the Hutch and quick connect elimination.
Air in the fuel for long enough has damaged one of your injectors enough to need to be rebuilt.
Loose wiring harness's inside the valve covers, one of the circuits the resistance has gotten high enough to be able produce a miss at idle.
I'm sure there are other possibilties for a slight missing sensation at idle, but that's what I can think of right now.
