Oil price Increase?

Maybe call the dealer and ask? Maybe they simply charged out the wrong oil, or used the wrong oil. It cant hurt to ask and maybe you can get the next oil change free just for complaining about it or a discount or even a partial refund..

The thing is Homer, I do it myself. I buy the Motorcraft stuff from the dealer. I've done several oil changes with stuff from this dealer, all priced the same and much lower than the most recent one. Aside from the prices, the receipts for all oil change materials were identical with oil type, viscosity, and oil filter part#'s. It was a $1.99 per qt. increase that got me. I'm going to call next time before I go down there and bring the receipts as proof if they don't believe I was overcharged. Maybe you're right, and they'll do right by me. doubt it.

I see, I thought you meant you were charged more for an oil change. It is possible they charged out the wrong part number for that oil. Bringing the other reciepts will verify that it was the exact same oil. Ive seens some parts departments that have radically changed their pricing schemes. I also see wild wholesale pricing swings at the dealership. Last year in January R134 freon was 20 cents per oz wholesale. In Summer it was jacked up to 1.00 per oz due to some phoney shortage. Months later its back to 20 cents per oz. Spot markets can really screw you.
