Exhaust Brake Question

Exhaust Brake Question
I've got a an early '99 truck. When I bought it a year ago, it had an exhaust brake on it. It's the type that uses the EBPV, but it appears to be bought as a kit, not home made like the cheap one that I have heard of on this site. It's got a little blue label around the switch that says "Powerstroke Powerbraker". Does anyone know who made or sold these brakes, because I haven't been able to find one. Also, I was thinking of wiring up my own home made brake on a different truck. Do the commercially bought electronic brakes provide any more braking power than the home made ones?

oh yeah, heres some links if you want to do it yourself...
http://hometown.aol.com/jzettel73/EBPV_brake.html <- don't like that they integrate with the brakes on that one
http://www.imdl.gatech.edu/ljthawk/h.../exh_brake.htm <- Really nice one if your not afraid of some wiring.
And if you've got some time to browse the forum look for Kwik's thread titled 'my version of the exhaust brake', it was some good reading on doing it yourself.

Mine is still wired to the dash with a slight revision to my original design. I find that the exhaust brake works best if left on all the time when descending a mountain pass. Then when the service brakes are needed for a little help I just have to barely touch the pedal to bring the speed back down to where I need it.
That way I don't have to ride the brake pedal all the way down the hill.
And here's a link to the thread that I started.

Kwik, I think it is 10ohms, I'm pretty sure I got the value off of your brake thread. I can look through my notes if you really want to know...
